Birds of  the Western USA
An unexpected trip back to Nevada USA for
the summer of 2010 gave us a whole new
area to be looking for birds not to mention a
very different type of bird...desert and
mountain dwellers.

We purchased a plasticized pocket guide
Southwestern Birds by Waterford Press
for $5.95 and found it to be quite inclusive.

The local Red Rock Audubon Society in Las
Vegas listed eleven places locally for spotting
and photographing birds. The best website,
however, for birding and otherwise belongs
to
Jim Boone and it's outstanding.

On our cross-country trip in
July/August, we visited several US
National Parks and Monuments, starting
in Utah. Each park provided a bird list
on request which aided greatly in
identification of several birds with which
we were unfamiliar.
